The Lagos State Government has arrested 27 suspected hoodlums for allegedly vandalising parts of the Festac-Alakija Bridge.

The suspects were apprehended during a security operation following reports of vandalism and the removal of public infrastructure around the bridge.

The state government said the arrests were part of ongoing efforts to protect public assets and prevent criminal activities that could endanger motorists and other road users.

The suspects are expected to face further investigation and possible prosecution if found culpable.

Authorities warned individuals involved in the destruction or theft of public infrastructure to desist from such activities, stressing that the government would continue to take action against those found damaging public property.

The latest arrests come amid increased efforts by the state government and security agencies to safeguard critical infrastructure across Lagos.
