Super Falcons head coach Justin Madugu has promised to address the team’s defensive shortcomings as Nigeria prepares for the crucial stages of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Madugu acknowledged that the team has struggled defensively and said efforts would be made to correct the mistakes ahead of their next match.
The coach said the technical crew would work with the players to improve their organisation, concentration and defensive coordination.
The Super Falcons have faced criticism over their defensive displays during the tournament, with concerns growing over the team’s ability to cope with stronger opponents.
Madugu, however, expressed confidence in the squad and insisted that the players remain determined to improve as the competition progresses.
Nigeria will be hoping for a stronger defensive performance as the Super Falcons continue their pursuit of another WAFCON title.
