Workers at a Lagos-based university have issued a seven-day ultimatum to the institution’s management, threatening to embark on an indefinite strike over unresolved welfare and administrative issues.

The workers, under their various unions, said the notice became necessary following what they described as the management’s failure to address longstanding demands despite repeated engagements.

Among the issues raised are concerns over staff welfare, implementation of agreements, and other conditions of service, which they said have remained unresolved.

The unions warned that failure to meet their demands within the seven-day period would leave them with no option but to commence an indefinite industrial action.

They urged the university management to act swiftly to avert a disruption of academic and administrative activities.
