The Super Eagles fought back from two goals down to secure a 3-3 draw against Russia in an international friendly in Nizhny Novgorod on Tuesday.
Nigeria took the lead in the 10th minute through Kelechi Iheanacho, who finished after being set up by Alhassan Bewene.
Russia responded in the 30th minute when Lechi Sadulaev found the equaliser before Matvey Kislyak put the hosts ahead in first-half stoppage time.
Alexey Miranchuk extended Russia’s lead in the 54th minute, leaving Nigeria facing a two-goal deficit.
The Super Eagles, however, pulled one back in the 78th minute through Peter Edokpolor, setting up a tense finish.
Akor Adams then completed Nigeria’s comeback in the fourth minute of added time, scoring in the 90+4th minute to earn Éric Chelle’s side a share of the spoils.
The result means Nigeria have now played out back-to-back draws against Russia, following their 1-1 encounter in June 2025.
The friendly was Nigeria’s final game of the current international window, coming after the Super Eagles recorded a 2-1 win over Madagascar before suffering a 3-0 defeat to Guinea-Bissau in their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
