Troops of the Nigerian Army have foiled an attempt by suspected terrorists to block a major highway in Kebbi State during a security operation.
Military authorities said the troops engaged the armed group, forcing the suspects to flee the scene before they could carry out their planned attack.
During the operation, soldiers recovered two motorcycles believed to have been used by the fleeing suspects.
The military said troops have intensified patrols and clearance operations in the area to prevent further attacks and ensure the safety of commuters.
It reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining offensive operations against criminal elements and restoring security across affected communities.
