What started as a passion for music and African culture has developed into a professional career for Nigerian-born music producer and recording artist Uchenna Benjamin, popularly known as UrchMan.
UrchMan began his professional journey in 2018, driven by an interest in music production, songwriting and recording. Growing up surrounded by Afrobeats, reggae, gospel and traditional African sounds, he developed an interest in creating music that retained its cultural identity while embracing modern production.
That philosophy has remained central to his artistic development.
Over the years, UrchMan has worked with artists and creatives in Port Harcourt and Lagos, contributing to different music projects and building experience across production and recording.
His approach combines traditional African influences with contemporary sounds, allowing him to move across Afrobeats, Afro-gospel and other modern genres.
Beyond creating music, UrchMan views the profession as a means of connecting people and giving creative talents a platform to express themselves.
His journey reflects the growing number of Nigerian creatives turning long-standing cultural influences and personal interests into professional careers within the country’s expanding creative economy.
