Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi has indicated that he is unlikely to contest the presidency in 2031, describing the possibility as “very slim.”
Obi said his immediate attention remains on the 2027 general election, stressing that his priority is addressing Nigeria’s pressing economic and governance challenges rather than discussing political plans beyond the next electoral cycle.
He maintained that his focus is on offering leadership that can improve the country’s condition and urged supporters to concentrate on the task ahead instead of speculating about future elections.
The former Anambra State governor’s remarks have fueled fresh discussions about his long-term political ambitions, even as preparations for the 2027 presidential election continue.
