Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, have rescued six more victims abducted during the recent attack on a secondary school in Lassa, Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State.

The rescued victims include four students, a school staff member and a woman. They were freed during ongoing search-and-rescue operations by troops pursuing the abductors in the area.

Military authorities said the operation is continuing, with efforts focused on locating and rescuing those still in captivity.

The latest development follows the attack on Government Day Secondary School, Lassa, where suspected insurgents stormed the school during examinations, killing teachers and abducting students and staff.

Security forces had earlier rescued 10 victims shortly after the incident.

The military said troops remain committed to ensuring the safe return of the remaining abductees while sustaining operations against insurgent groups in the North-East.
