The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that 3.87 million Nigerians were added to the national voter register during the latest Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.

The commission disclosed that women accounted for the majority of the newly registered voters, outnumbering their male counterparts.

INEC said the updated figures reflect the outcome of the nationwide registration exercise conducted ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The electoral body noted that the newly registered voters would be included in the updated national register after the completion of the verification and validation process.

INEC reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a credible electoral process and urged eligible Nigerians to participate actively in future voter registration exercises.
