The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has said international recognition and endorsements will not determine the outcome of Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election.

The party was reacting to a letter from former United States President Donald Trump to President Bola Tinubu, insisting that electoral success would ultimately depend on the support of Nigerian voters.

ADC said Nigerians are more concerned about the country’s economic conditions, security and governance than external commendations.

The opposition party maintained that the 2027 election would be decided by the electorate based on the government’s performance rather than international goodwill.

It urged the Federal Government to focus on addressing the country’s pressing challenges instead of relying on foreign recognition as a measure of political success.
