African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has alleged that the Chicago State University certificate presented by President Bola Tinubu differs from the academic document he submitted during the 1999 governorship election in Lagos State.
Sowore made the claim while commenting on Tinubu’s educational records, insisting that the documents presented at different times were not the same.
According to him, the alleged discrepancy raises fresh questions that deserve public scrutiny as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections gather momentum.
The former presidential candidate maintained that public office holders should be transparent about their educational qualifications and other records presented for electoral purposes.
Tinubu has consistently maintained that he graduated from Chicago State University, while the university has previously confirmed that he attended and completed his studies there. Past controversies have largely centred on the format and issuance of replacement diplomas rather than his attendance at the institution.
