Human rights activist and former Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) senatorial aspirant for the Federal Capital Territory, Aisha Yesufu, has urged Nigerians not to vote for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, claiming that doing so would amount to supporting the continued activities of terrorists in the country.

Yesufu made the remarks on Sunday in a post on her verified X account, where she expressed concern over the country’s worsening security situation, including persistent killings and kidnappings.

She also encouraged eligible Nigerians, particularly those aged 18 and above, to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), stressing that the power to bring about change lies in the ballot.

According to her, citizens should actively participate in the electoral process if they want to see improvements in governance and security.

The activist, who is known for her advocacy on accountability and good governance, has consistently criticised the current administration over insecurity and other national challenges.

Her latest comments come as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
