The National Democratic Coalition (NDC) has inaugurated reconciliation committees as part of efforts to resolve internal differences and strengthen the opposition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The coalition appointed economist and political activist Pat Utomi and former lawmaker Buba Galadima to lead the committees.
The committees are expected to engage various groups and stakeholders within the coalition, identify areas of disagreement and work towards finding common ground ahead of the elections.
The development is part of broader efforts by the NDC to build a stronger opposition platform capable of challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections.
The coalition has continued to hold consultations with political stakeholders and opposition figures as it works towards establishing a unified structure ahead of the polls.
The reconciliation committees are expected to begin engagements with aggrieved members and other stakeholders in the coming days, with a focus on promoting unity and strengthening the coalition’s political structure.
