Former Kogi West senator and African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain, Dino Melaye, has cautioned President Bola Tinubu against taking the 2027 presidential election for granted.
Melaye said political endorsements and calculations do not guarantee victory, stressing that circumstances can change unexpectedly before an election.
In a post on his X handle, the former lawmaker referenced the late military Head of State, General Sani Abacha, noting that despite enjoying widespread political support ahead of a planned transition to civilian rule, he died before realising his ambition.
According to Melaye, there is a divine factor in human affairs that no politician can ignore, urging the President to remain mindful that political fortunes can change at any time.
