A plenary session of the House of Representatives turned rowdy on Wednesday after a bill seeking to establish state police triggered a heated debate among lawmakers.

The tension escalated when members of the Minority Caucus staged a walkout in protest over the handling of the proposed legislation.

The lawmakers expressed dissatisfaction with the proceedings, insisting that due process was not followed in considering the bill.

The development briefly disrupted legislative activities as members exchanged arguments over the proposal before order was restored.

The bill remains one of the most debated constitutional amendment proposals, with supporters arguing that state police would strengthen internal security, while opponents have raised concerns over possible abuse by state governments.
