Former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has accused President Bola Tinubu of being worried about his growing popularity among ordinary Nigerians.
Sowore made the claim while reacting to recent political developments involving his movement and activities across different parts of the country.
According to him, the support he has continued to receive at the grassroots level has unsettled those in power.
“The establishment is afraid of our popularity because our message resonates with ordinary Nigerians who are demanding change,” he said.
The activist and politician argued that his movement had gained traction among youths, workers and communities that he said had been neglected by successive administrations.
He also maintained that his criticism of government policies was driven by concerns over the economy, governance and the welfare of citizens.
The Presidency has not officially responded to Sowore’s latest remarks.
Sowore, who has remained a vocal critic of the Tinubu administration, has repeatedly called for political reforms and greater accountability in government.
