Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has criticised the Federal Government over the killing of 32 people in Sokoto State, demanding urgent action to address the worsening security situation.
Atiku expressed his concern in a statement following the reported attack in Sokoto, where 32 Nigerians were killed.
The former vice president questioned how many more lives must be lost before the government takes decisive steps to protect citizens.
He also faulted the government’s handling of insecurity, arguing that the continued attacks and loss of lives showed the need for a stronger and more effective security response.
Atiku said the government has a constitutional responsibility to protect the lives and property of Nigerians, stressing that citizens should not continue to live in fear of attacks.
The former vice president called for urgent measures to prevent further killings and ensure that those responsible for the attacks are brought to justice.
The Sokoto incident adds to growing concerns over insecurity in parts of the country, with renewed calls for the Federal Government and security agencies to strengthen efforts to protect vulnerable communities.
