The Trade Union Congress (TUC) has directed its affiliate unions to suspend all industrial actions over the concession of King’s College, Lagos.
Nuhu Toro, TUC general secretary, issued the directive on Monday after an emergency meeting with the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, in Abuja.
The Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN) and other unions within the Federal Ministry of Education had earlier directed workers in federal unity colleges across the country not to resume academic activities until further notice.
The directive was issued in protest against the concession of King’s College to the King’s College Old Boys’ Association (KCOBA) under a public-private partnership (PPP) arrangement.
