Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has named former Super Eagles captain Austin “Jay Jay” Okocha as the greatest footballer of all time.
The Afrobeats star said he does not subscribe to the long-running debate between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi over who deserves the title of football’s greatest player.
Speaking during a recent interview with ESPN, Burna Boy said Okocha remains his all-time favourite because of his exceptional talent, creativity and style of play.
The singer praised the former Nigerian international for the excitement he brought to the game, insisting that no other player has entertained him more on the football pitch.
His comments add a fresh perspective to the enduring Ronaldo-versus-Messi debate, with Burna Boy choosing the Nigerian football icon instead.
