Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has challenged President Bola Tinubu to make public details of contracts and payments involving the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL.

Atiku also asked the President to disclose records relating to about N11.2tn in payments and account for the use of public funds under his administration.

The former Vice President made the demand while criticising the Federal Government over its handling of the oil sector and public finances.

Atiku said the Tinubu administration should provide Nigerians with details of NNPCL contracts, payments and other financial transactions to promote transparency and accountability.

He also challenged the President to disclose records relating to campaign funding ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

According to Atiku, making the documents public would allow Nigerians to independently assess how public resources and campaign funds were handled.

He accused the administration of failing to provide adequate explanations on some financial issues and called for greater transparency in the management of public funds.

The former Vice President said Nigerians had the right to know how government revenues were generated and spent.

Atiku has been a leading critic of the Tinubu administration and is expected to remain active in opposition politics ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
