Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde on Tuesday declared that it will take a special operation to rescue students and teachers abducted in the state.

The governor spoke while addressing protesters, who marched to the Government House demanding immediate rescue of the children.

Recall that terrorists invaded schools in Yawota and Esiele in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State last month and kidnapped over 40 pupils and teachers.

Social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, on Tuesday led a mass protest to the Oyo State Government House.

Addressing the protesters, Makinde assured that the victims will be rescued, stating that efforts are ongoing.

“The operation to rescue them is a special type of operation. As the Governor of Oyo State, I assure you that we will bring back those children,” he said.
