The Obi-Kwankwaso Movement has unveiled a 59-member Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The council comprises zonal and state coordinators, as well as directors overseeing areas including mobilisation, women affairs, strategy, security, legal affairs, information technology and administration.
The movement said its Director-General, John Ughulu, will head the campaign council, while its National Secretary, Saadatu Sani, will serve in the campaign leadership.
The structure covers the six geopolitical zones and the Federal Capital Territory, with coordinators appointed for the 36 states.
The development is part of the movement’s preparations to mobilise support for the proposed joint presidential ticket involving Nigeria Democratic Congress candidate Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso.
In a statement announcing the appointments, Sani described the positions as a responsibility to serve and urged members of the council to work together ahead of the election.
“Your selection is not merely an appointment; it is a call to duty, sacrifice, leadership and service to Nigeria,” she said.
She said members would be expected to take the movement’s message to Nigerians across states, local government areas, wards and communities.
Sani also called for discipline, teamwork and effective communication among members of the council.
“The road ahead will require hard work. It will require strategic thinking, grassroots mobilisation, effective communication and, above all, the ability to work together,” she said.
Among those appointed as zonal coordinators are Suleiman Abubakar for North-Central, Hashimu Dungurawa for North-West, Amadu Gwambe for North-East, Adebayo Adefolaseye for South-West, Christopher Ighodaro for South-South and El-Shaddai Ikeh for South-East.
Other appointments include Rev. Mike Agbon as Director of Inter-Ethnic Group in Northern Nigeria, Sabo Gashua as Director of Grassroots Mobilisation, Glory Adayi as Director of Women Affairs and Kabir Yahaya as Director of Contact and Engagement.
Kingdom Okere was named Director of Legal Affairs, Abiodun Dabiri will oversee Strategy and Planning, Richard Enemona, a retired CSP, will head Security and Intelligence, while Aisha Abdulrahaman was appointed Director of Administration.
The movement had previously said it would retain its independent organisational structure rather than merge with another political organisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
