For technology entrepreneur Nicholas Nome, building Paynownow was never intended to be the final chapter.

Founded in 2020, Paynownow has developed into a Nigerian digital utilities services provider offering a range of everyday digital services, including airtime, data, electricity, cable TV, internet subscriptions, betting services and gift cards.

Now, the company is preparing for another important stage: a relaunch.

Why the Relaunch Matters

Technology companies evolve as consumer habits change.

The way people purchase airtime, subscribe to services, pay utility bills and access digital products continues to move toward digital channels. For companies serving these everyday needs, staying relevant means continuing to improve the experience around those services.

For Paynownow founder Nicholas Nome, the relaunch represents an opportunity to build on the company’s existing foundation while taking the platform into its next stage of development.

The focus remains practical: bringing commonly used digital services together in a way that is convenient for users.

From a Young Internet Enthusiast to Founder

The story behind Paynownow’s relaunch also goes back to Nome’s early relationship with technology.

While still in secondary school, he developed an interest in computers and the internet. He began blogging about browsing tips, mobile tutorials and internet configuration before teaching himself web development and software programming.

His experience later expanded through work as a webmaster, blogger and freelance web developer.

In 2014, he founded Saybaba.com, which later became Sellsbaba in 2018.

Those experiences helped shape his approach to building technology businesses and eventually led to Paynownow in 2020.

Expanding the Everyday Digital Services Experience

Paynownow’s current range includes airtime, data, electricity, cable TV, internet subscriptions, betting services and gift cards.

The addition of gift cards further expands the range of everyday digital services available through the company.

For Nome, the broader objective is to continue developing Paynownow as a digital services company capable of serving multiple routine needs from one platform.

The Next Chapter

The Paynownow relaunch is therefore more than a new phase for a digital platform. It is another stage in Nicholas Nome’s entrepreneurial journey.

From learning about computers and blogging as a young person to developing websites, working independently as a web developer and eventually founding a technology company, Nome’s career has consistently revolved around digital products.

The next chapter of Paynownow will build on that history while continuing to position the company around everyday digital utility services in Nigeria.
