Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, engaged in a playful exchange with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, during a visit to Abuja.
In a viral video from the meeting, Davido told Wike, “I won. I beat you guys,” while the minister jokingly challenged his claim.
When Wike asked, “You beat us?”, Davido responded, “I beat you,” prompting laughter from those present.
The singer later prostrated before Wike and hugged him as the light-hearted exchange ended amid laughter and applause.
The encounter came shortly after Davido’s uncle, Ademola Adeleke, was re-elected as governor of Osun State in the August 15 governorship election.
Adeleke was declared winner after polling 511,067 votes, defeating his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who secured 444,815 votes.
