The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has issued a 14-day ultimatum to 20 universities over unresolved issues affecting its members.

The union warned that failure to address the outstanding matters within the stipulated period could lead to industrial action.

ASUU said the affected institutions had been given adequate time to resolve the issues but expressed concern over the lack of satisfactory progress.

The union urged the universities and relevant authorities to take immediate steps towards resolving the disputes before the expiration of the ultimatum.

It warned that members could be compelled to take further action if the issues remained unresolved after the 14-day period.

The development has raised concerns over the possibility of another disruption to academic activities in the affected universities if the dispute is not resolved within the timeframe.
