Story:

President Bola Tinubu has declared that he will vigorously contest the 2027 presidential election, insisting he will not surrender victory to his political opponents.

Tinubu made the remark while receiving members of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The President described politics as a contest in which every aspirant has the right to seek elective office, stressing that he would remain fully engaged until the end of the race.

He also defended the independence of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), dismissing allegations that the electoral body was being used against opposition parties.

Tinubu maintained that his administration remains focused on addressing the country’s economic and security challenges, adding that his government inherited many of the issues it is currently working to resolve.
