The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on Nigerians and the international community to hold the administration of President Bola Tinubu responsible if anything happens to former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, while he remains in custody.
The opposition party expressed concern over El-Rufai’s continued detention, alleging that his health has deteriorated and urging the authorities to grant him immediate access to adequate medical care.
ADC also described his detention as politically motivated, insisting that he should not be denied his constitutional rights while legal proceedings continue.
The party urged the Federal Government to ensure El-Rufai’s safety and wellbeing, warning that any harm that befalls him would be blamed on the current administration.
It further called for due process to be followed in handling the matter and appealed for respect for the rule of law.
