Senator Seriake Dickson has called on Nigerians to remain committed to safeguarding the country’s democracy ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The former Bayelsa State governor stressed the need for political leaders, institutions and citizens to uphold democratic values and the rule of law to ensure peaceful and credible elections.

Dickson said Nigeria’s democratic system must be strengthened through transparency, accountability and respect for constitutional principles.

He also urged political stakeholders to place national interest above partisan considerations, warning that actions capable of undermining democratic institutions should be avoided.

The senator maintained that preserving democracy is a collective responsibility and called for continued support for initiatives that promote peace, justice and good governance across the country.
