The Nigerian military has rescued more than 40 kidnapped victims and arrested 20 suspected criminals during coordinated operations carried out across several states.
The operations, conducted by troops in collaboration with other security agencies, targeted kidnapping, banditry, terrorism and other criminal activities.
According to military authorities, the rescued victims were freed during raids on criminal hideouts and rescue missions in affected communities.
Several suspects were also arrested during the operations, while arms, ammunition, motorcycles and other items believed to have been used by criminal groups were recovered.
The military said the operations were part of ongoing efforts to dismantle kidnapping networks and restore security in troubled areas.
Authorities added that some of the suspects are already in custody and will be handed over to the appropriate agencies for further investigation and prosecution.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining offensive operations against criminal elements and urged residents to continue providing credible intelligence to security agencies.
It also assured Nigerians that troops would maintain pressure on kidnappers, terrorists and other armed groups operating across the country.
