Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju has alleged that Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, are working in the interest of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Adeyanju made the allegation in a post on X on Saturday, while commenting on the state of opposition politics in Nigeria.

He also urged Nigerians not to support Obi or Kwankwaso in the 2027 presidential election, based on his allegation.

Adeyanju criticised what he described as divisions among opposition politicians, saying the development could affect efforts to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

“Peter Obi and Kwankwaso are working for Tinubu,” Adeyanju alleged.

He questioned why opposition politicians remained divided despite what he described as the political and economic challenges facing the country.

The allegation comes amid preparations for the 2027 presidential election, with several opposition figures and political parties positioning themselves for the contest.

Obi and Kwankwaso are currently associated with the NDC, where Obi is the presidential candidate and Kwankwaso is his running mate.

Adeyanju did not provide evidence in the post to substantiate his allegation that the two politicians are working for Tinubu.

Obi and Kwankwaso have not, in the post referenced, publicly responded to Adeyanju’s allegation.
