TikTok has permanently banned the account of Nigerian content creator Carter Efe over multiple violations of the platform’s policies.

The account, which had more than 5.6 million followers and over 158 million likes, was removed on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

Screenshots of the ban notice circulated on social media, showing that the account had been permanently suspended following multiple policy violations.

The specific violations that led to the ban were not disclosed in the reports.

Carter Efe had used the account to share comedy content, promote music and host live broadcasts, making it one of his major platforms for reaching his audience.

The development has generated reactions from fans and other social media users, with some expressing concern over the loss of an account built over several years.

The latest ban is not the first time Carter Efe has lost a TikTok account. In June 2025, the platform removed his previous account, which had about 3.5 million followers, following a livestream in which he made comments about singer Wizkid.

He subsequently created another account and grew it to more than 5.6 million followers before its latest removal.

Carter Efe remains active on other social media platforms, including Twitch, where he has built a presence as a live streamer.

TikTok’s policies allow the platform to impose restrictions or remove accounts following repeated or serious violations of its rules, while affected users may appeal enforcement decisions.
