Chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dele Momodu, has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies, particularly the removal of the fuel subsidy, saying Nigerians were given “bad news” from the beginning of the administration.
Momodu made the remarks while assessing the impact of the government’s economic reforms and the hardship faced by Nigerians.
He argued that the removal of the fuel subsidy immediately placed additional pressure on citizens by increasing the cost of transportation, food and other essential commodities.
According to him, the hardship resulting from the policy has continued to affect households and businesses across the country.
Momodu’s comments come amid renewed political debates over the impact of Tinubu’s reforms as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The ADC chieftain maintained that government policies should ultimately improve the welfare of citizens and reduce the economic burden on ordinary Nigerians.
