Former Kano State Governor and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has thrown his weight behind the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) over its recent assessment of the country’s situation.

Kwankwaso said the bishops had every right to speak on issues affecting Nigerians, insisting that religious leaders should not be criticised for expressing concerns about governance and the nation’s challenges.

He also criticised the administration of President Bola Tinubu, arguing that Nigerians continue to grapple with worsening economic hardship, insecurity and the rising cost of living.

According to the former presidential candidate, the government should focus on addressing the country’s pressing challenges rather than responding to those who draw attention to the difficulties faced by citizens.

Kwankwaso urged the Federal Government to prioritise policies that would improve the welfare of Nigerians and restore public confidence in governance.
