Arise Television anchor Rufai Oseni has criticised some politicians eyeing the presidency in 2027, saying it is troubling that individuals who cannot clearly state where they attended primary school are seeking Nigeria’s highest office.

Oseni made the remark during a recent broadcast while commenting on the calibre of aspirants expected to contest the next presidential election.

According to him, Nigerians deserve leaders whose backgrounds can be easily verified, stressing that transparency should be a key requirement for anyone aspiring to lead the country.

The broadcaster argued that public office seekers should be open about their educational history and other aspects of their personal records, noting that accountability begins with honesty about one’s background.

His comments come amid growing political activities and public scrutiny of prospective candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
