Chelsea are on the verge of signing striker Danny Welbeck, with the former England international set to undergo a medical before completing his move from Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Blues have reportedly reached an agreement for the experienced forward, who is expected to sign a two-year contract if he successfully passes his medical.
Welbeck is expected to link up with Chelsea’s squad after the transfer is finalised, providing additional experience and depth to the club’s attacking options ahead of the new season.
The 35-year-old enjoyed an impressive campaign with Brighton, registering his best-ever Premier League goal tally and attracting interest from several clubs before Chelsea moved to secure his signature.
His arrival is expected to bolster Chelsea’s frontline as the club continues to strengthen its squad during the summer transfer window.
