A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has granted bail to former Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, Danladi Umar, in the sum of N100 million with one surety in like sum.

The court granted Umar bail on Wednesday following proceedings in his case.

Recall that a Federal Capital Territory, FCT High Court sitting in Maitama had remanded Umar at the Kuje Correctional Centre after the Federal Government arraigned him on a four-count corruption charge.

Justice Peter Kekemeke in a brief ruling also ordered that the surety should have a certificate of occupancy.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, arraigned Umar on a 4 count charge of conferring undue advantage on himself while serving as the chairman of the CCT.

According to the EFCC, Mr Umar received gratification from contractors who worked on projects for the Code of Conduct Tribunal.

He however pleaded not guilty to the charges.
